How I Help Children Build Confidence, Regulation, and Connection
Nature-based occupational therapy in the Seacoast New Hampshire area
What Occupational Therapy Is
Pediatric occupational therapy helps children develop the skills they need to fully participate in daily life at home, at school, and during play.
Because play is a child’s most natural way of learning, sessions are rooted in child-led, play-based experiences that support meaningful growth through movement, exploration, and connection.
A Nature-Based, Child-Centered Approach
My work is grounded in connection, regulation, and meaningful movement. Instead of focusing on isolated skills, I support children in developing them through play, exploration, and real-life experiences.
As a community-based practice in the Seacoast New Hampshire area, sessions take place in natural outdoor environments. These settings provide rich sensory and movement opportunities that support regulation, engagement, and development in ways that carry over into daily life.
Every child’s path is unique. I meet each child where they are and build on their strengths to support growth from the roots up.
How Occupational Therapy Supports Development
Through play, movement, and connection, children develop foundational skills that support participation in daily life.
These may include:
Sensory processing and regulation
Emotional regulation and flexibility
Fine and gross motor skills
Visual-motor and coordination skills
Social interaction and play skills
Attention, planning, and problem solving
Independence in daily routines
Nervous system regulation
Each session is individualized and guided by your child’s strengths, interests, and needs.
How I Work With Children and Families
I offer flexible, nature-based occupational therapy services designed to meet children where they are.
Support may include:
Individual occupational therapy sessions
Small group sessions in natural outdoor environments
Parent and caregiver collaboration and consultation
School and community-based support when appropriate
I work closely with families so that progress carries into everyday routines, relationships, and environments.
Group-Based Support
For many children, learning and growth happen best in shared, supported environments.
Forest Friends is a small, nature-based occupational therapy group where children build social and emotional skills through play, movement, and connection outdoors.
